Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol in Sioux Falls, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail and mall location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors with exceptional customer service. You will support a welcoming environment through clear communication and teamwork while upholding Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, care, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, shoppers, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail and mall common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns according to established procedures.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, maintaining professional communication with site personnel, visitors, and responding agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
