Senior Network Engineer

Salary: $130,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution.
• We require at least six years of technical experience performing the duties described.
• We require experience aligned with the Core and Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Tasks for DoD Cyber Workforce Framework Work Role 651 (NIST: SP-ARC-001).
• We require experience maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies in accordance with government and accreditation standards.
• We require experience with operating systems and platforms including Solaris, Linux, Windows servers and operating systems, VMware, and multiple versions of macOS.
• We require experience with configuration, installation, vulnerability identification and assessment, and security hardening of fiber and Ethernet networks.
• We require experience developing and maintaining Communication and Information Systems Installation Records (CSIRs), Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) reports, and technical, systems, schematic, interface, and connectivity drawings.
• We require experience working with customers and users to develop and review communication system requirements, assess infrastructure gaps and surpluses, and integrate systems for interoperability.
• We require experience creating and reviewing Communication Requirement/Technical Solutions (CR/TS).
• We require experience sustaining equipment operations through Preventive Maintenance Inspections and repair schedules.
• We require the ability to hold a current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• We require CompTIA Security+ plus one of the following certifications: FITSP-D, GDSA, CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP, or GIAC GSEC.
• We require the ability to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting up to 25 pounds and standing, walking, bending, squatting, and twisting for extended periods.

• We contribute to planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities for system and network operations.
• We provide engineering and implementation support, including assistance with HQ USSPACECOM communications and computer requirement documents.
• We examine mission requirements and help develop technical requirements for multi-level classification networks and releasable classification levels.
• We work directly with customers and users to develop and review communication system requirements.
• We compare anticipated needs against existing infrastructure, identify shortfalls and excesses, and integrate communication systems for interoperability.
• We perform risk assessments, cybersecurity engineering, technical security evaluations, and recommend solutions.
• We meet regularly with customers and users to understand their needs and educate them on communication systems and the procurement process.
• We participate in planning forums, briefings, conferences, and meetings to provide internal and external resource updates.
• We perform systems architecture, design, planning, and integration work.
• We complete other duties as assigned.
