Commercial Banking Relationship Manager

About the Role As a Commercial and Specialty Banking Relationship Manager I, you will ensure the overall success and growth of an assigned portfolio by deepening relationships of existing clients and acquiring new ones, while cross‑selling lending, depository and Treasury Management products. You will review the client’s credit needs, design solutions, negotiate credit terms, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications, manage the existing portfolio and monitor the relationship for compliance with credit standards, update financials, maintain insurance on bank collateral and review loans for accurate grading. You will handle relationships greater than $2 million in credit exposure and over $25 000 in fee income, provide financial advice, counsel clients on business and banking trends, review loan documents for compliance with the Loan Policy and banking laws, uphold all federal and state regulations, and build rapport with clients and associates. All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field, or a combination of education and work experience 7+ years of relevant experience Good managerial, communication and sales skills Desired Qualifications MBA or master’s degree in business, finance or related field, or a combination of education and work experience 5+ years of Commercial or Specialty experience Skills and Abilities Strong business development skills and overall understanding of credit and business finance Strong networking skills and participation in networking events in the market area Competence with standard office equipment including computer, fax, ten‑key calculator and phone Competence with standard office software including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word Solid knowledge of banking policies, regulations and compliance issues Solid ability to analyze financial statements Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles Valid driver’s license required Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build team cohesiveness for delivering the full complement of bank products and services Self‑directed and motivated to accomplish tasks, meet objectives and adhere to timelines Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly and concisely articulate issues Work Environment Commitment to meritocracy and supporting associates in role growth Physical ability to grasp, push, pull, lift, bend, raise and hold hands and arms overhead when required Office setting with traditional hours Rapid pace work for up to 8 hours per day Extended hours as necessary Travel as necessary Benefits Generous benefits package that includes insurance, 401(k), associate stock purchase program, paid time off, and associate banking perks For more information about the benefits offered click here.
