Position Overview Under direction, performs comprehensive, detailed, analytical and investigative review of case records and call recordings on State and Federal Assistance cases. Conducts reviews with an assigned geographic location for compliance with SNAP, state regulations and DHS rules. Conducts interviews with public assistance recipients, relatives, and staff to verify information. Analyzes data and prepares reports with recommendations for improvement. Travels as required, including overnight stays. Essential Functions Performs comprehensive, detailed analytical and investigative reviews of live calls, recorded calls, and electronic case records to determine compliance with agency services, SNAP regulations, Medicaid and cash program regulations, state regulations and DHS procedures to improve program access and operations, reduce expenditures and avoid quality control errors. Conducts interviews with public assistance recipients and responsible relatives. Analyzes data accumulated from reviews and prepares reports on outcomes and findings using Microsoft Office Suite to determine error trends and provide recommendations to management to improve outcomes. Reviews, studies, and applies federal and state policies, procedures and regulations as well as DHS policies and procedures governing public assistance programs included in the review. Participates in special programs required to test proposed procedures, methods or systems designed to improve department operations before permanent implementation. Performs other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with coursework in one of the behavioral sciences. Two years of professional experience in casework or a related area. Preferred Qualifications Three years of professional experience administering a supplemental nutrition assistance program. Two years of professional experience working with public assistance programs including a supplemental nutrition assistance program. Two years of professional experience working with policies, rules and procedures for public or private organization. Two years of professional experience utilizing public assistance interviewing techniques. Two years of professional experience examining and evaluating data according to established criteria. Two years of professional experience presenting and preparing clear, concise, and accurate reports. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, including overnight stays.
