Job TitleNursing Services in an Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment SettingJob DescriptionThis full-time position is with health benefits and performs nursing services in an inpatient drug and alcohol treatment setting. The nurse will provide general and specialized direct and indirect patient care. This nurse will work with a multidisciplinary team of counselors, nurse practitioners, physician, and internal psychiatric providers to manage patients' individualized treatment plans. Shifts currently hiring for: Monday through Friday day shift – 7:30am – 4:00pmMonday through Friday evening shift – 3:30pm – 12:00amMonday through Friday night shift – 11:30pm – 8:00amWeekend day shift – 7:30am – 8:00pmWeekend night shift – 7:30pm – 8:00am HIRING HOURLY: $25.00 OPEN UNTIL FILLED – APPLICATION REVIEW BEGINS IMMEDIATELY Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for creating a sense of safety and trust for patients who have experienced trauma. This can be achieved through consistent, reliable interactions and clear communication that is trauma-informed and non-judgmental.Must demonstrate a genuine understanding and concern for the patient's individual experienceResponsible for nursing assessment and development of nursing plan of careResponsible for total nursing care of patients on the following units: Withdrawal Management, New Life Unit, Transitional Care Unit and Sobering ServicesResponsible for patient admissions and discharges (along with patient education)Must visit each patient throughout each shift and address any medical needsPerform tuberculin skin testing, IM injections, take vital signs, and administer breathalyzer assessmentsInteract with staff, patients, families, and physicians, nurse practitioners to provide optimum care for each patientNote any changes in patient's mental status, physical status, and monitor signs and symptoms of withdrawal during a shift and medicate appropriatelyDocument all pertinent information in resident's electronic medical record daily and follow up with other staff to ensure accuracy of careRespect rights and privacy of each patient while fulfilling responsibilities for their careAdminister medications according to established procedures and in a timely mannerEncourage patient participation in unit meetings and groupsPerform all duties assigned in an effective, timely, and professional mannerFollow strict DEA, DPH, Board of Pharmacy, and CARF regulations and documentation requirementsParticipate in emergency/disaster preparation (hurricane, flooding, etc.)Minimum QualificationsLicensed as an LPN in the State of South Carolina, supplemented by at least 1 year of practical work experience in an inpatient or outpatient human services delivery system, or hospital, or equivalent in education and clinical internshipFamiliarity with substance use disorders is preferredMust be annually re-certified in CPRHave appropriate attitude and demeanor for maintaining smooth working relations with patients, staff, outside agencies, and the general public.A valid SC driver's license or the ability to obtain one upon acceptance of the positionBenefitsHealth, Dental, Vision and Life InsuranceOptional Life and Disability InsuranceOptional Medical and Dependent Care Spending AccountsAnnual and Sick LeaveFourteen (14) recognized HolidaysSouth Carolina Retirement System (SCRS) State Retirement PlanPolice Officers Retirement System (PORS - as applicable)Optional Deferred Compensation ProgramLongevity and Merit Pay IncreasesLeadership, Professional and Skill Development TrainingEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Well-being Program
