Position Type: Aides/Paraprofessionals/ Library Media Assistant Date Posted: 9/9/2026 Location: Hutchinson Middle School-8 Hutchinson Public Schools has an opening for a Library Media Assistant. This position starts at $16.00 an hour and is commensurate with education and experience. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Locates and checks out materials to students and inspects returned materials for damage. Issues overdue notices to borrowers. Process and maintain reserve materials and interlibrary loans. Return materials to shelves, files, or other designated areas. Repair materials, if needed. Prepare new materials for circulation, including property stamping. Enter student data in automated library system, as needed. Answer phones and checks and processes mail. Order materials for teacher use from District Media Center and other schools. Assist with implementation of reading and other educational programs. Assist with inventory.
