About the Position

Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: South Carolina RN license or Compact license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 6-7 - Skills in cerebrovascular accident management, feeding tube care and management, isolation precautions, med/surg, oxygen administration, and renal failure management - Experience starting and maintaining IVs - Knowledge of rapid response/code team protocols Description: Position available for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse specializing in renal care. The role requires working three 12-hour shifts on days. Ratios will be between 1:6-7. The nurse will be required to work every other weekend. There is no call requirement for this position. Travelers may float to other medical/surgical units as needed. First-time travelers are accepted. All candidates must possess a South Carolina RN license or Compact license before starting. All required certifications must be up to date. Please note that all time-off requests must be submitted with the application. Candidates should be prepared to complete all compliance and credentialing processes in a timely manner. Travelers should also be aware of potential assignments to emergency response teams during hurricane season. Expect supervision from interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy as needed. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of approximately 36 patients. Candidate should be prepared for a fast-paced environment. This position will involve direct patient care and collaboration with a variety of healthcare professionals. Skills in managing renal failure and caring for patients with COVID are advantageous.
