Job Title: Groundskeeper Job Description

The Groundskeeper maintains the overall appearance and cleanliness of the campus grounds throughout the year. This role involves a wide range of seasonal tasks, including mowing, edging, trimming, irrigation repairs, leaf removal, planting, mulching, debris cleanup, and snow removal. The Groundskeeper plays a key role in ensuring that all outdoor areas remain safe, attractive, and well cared for in every season.

• Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, edging, trimming, and weed control across campus lawns and landscaped areas.
• Operate commercial groundskeeping and landscaping equipment safely and efficiently for daily maintenance tasks.
• Inspect and perform basic repairs on irrigation systems to ensure proper watering and healthy plant growth.
• Carry out seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, planting, mulching, and general landscape upkeep as weather and campus needs change.
• Complete debris cleanup throughout the campus grounds to maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment.
• Provide snow removal services during winter months to keep walkways and outdoor areas clear and safe.
• Monitor the overall cleanliness and condition of campus outdoor spaces and report any issues or hazards promptly.
• Work collaboratively with a small team to coordinate daily tasks and support campus events or special grounds needs.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working outdoors and using tools and equipment.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing for extended periods.

• 35 years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, lawn care, or outdoor property maintenance.
• Proven experience operating commercial groundskeeping and landscaping equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mowing, edging, trimming, weed control, and general grounds maintenance practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout all seasons.
• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, walk, and stand for extended periods while performing daily tasks.

• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in seasonal outdoor work environments.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and communicate clearly with coworkers.
• Attention to detail in maintaining clean, safe, and visually appealing grounds.
• Willingness to adapt to changing tasks and priorities as seasons and campus needs change.

This position is based outdoors on a college campus, working across lawns, landscaped areas, walkways, and other exterior spaces. You will use commercial groundskeeping and landscaping equipment and perform a variety of physical tasks in all weather conditions. The schedule runs from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and you will work as part of a team of four, collaborating daily to complete maintenance and seasonal projects in a dynamic campus setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Nashua, NH.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $49920.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
