POSITION TITLE: Sorter/Donation Processor

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor/Director of Production FLSA Status: Non-exempt (hourly)

General Statement The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people.

A. BASIC PURPOSE The Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for sale
• Keep donation area clean and without debris
• Sorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household items
• Loading donations for truck delivery
• Adhere to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucks
• Follow all accident and injury reporting procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving and processing area
• Determine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageable
• Other duties as assigned
• Adhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct Supervisor

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements

1. High School diploma or General Education degree (GED): or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate Supervisor.
