EHS Senior Specialist

Avantor seeks an EHS Senior Specialist to support environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs at its Solon, Ohio manufacturing facility. The role assists the site EHSS&S Manager in implementing compliance initiatives, training, and regulatory adherence across federal, state, and local requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing environmental compliance, safety, and sustainability programs
- Conduct training for employees, supervisors, and managers on EHS policies and practices
- Support hazardous waste management and RCRA compliance activities
- Perform inspections, audits, and incident investigations with root cause analysis
- Provide EHS orientation for new employees, contractors, and visitors
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Public Health, or related field preferred
- 2-3 years practical EHS experience in manufacturing, or 5+ years without bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, RCRA, hazardous materials management, and industrial hygiene
- Professional safety certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MS365 applications
- Ability to wear full-face respirator and perform physical site inspections
- Strong communication skills and comfort with public speaking
