Quality control specialist

Are you highly organized with an eagle eye for detail? We are seeking two dedicated Document QC Specialists to help bring FINRA's historical records into the digital age!

In this onsite role, you will be the driving force behind a major digitization initiative. You will handle highly confidential materials, ensuring our transition from hard-copy archives to digital files is seamless, accurate, and secure. If you take pride in catching the smallest errors and want to work on a clear, focused project, this role is for you. Don't worry if you haven't done this exact work-full training is provided!

What You'll Be Doing You will own the quality control process from start to finish, working closely with sensitive documents in a dedicated storage environment:

• The Prep Work: Review physical documents to determine what needs archiving. Prep, collate, and package files for shipping to our scanning vendor, and assist with the secure disposal of unneeded records.
• The Quality Check: Review newly digitized PDFs for crystal-clear legibility, correct pagination, and completeness. Flag any scanning errors (like duplicates or missing pages).
• The Final Archive: Carefully route and store QC-approved digital files into our secure system.

Responsibilities

• Document QC Specialists (2) needed for approximately six (6)-month, on-site project reviewing large volume of hard copy and PDF documents prior to and after they are digitized

• Prep for scanning: Review hard copy documents, select those that should be scanned for record-keeping purposes and those that should not (based on training); ensure that documents to be scanned are properly collected, collated, and otherwise ready to be digitized; prep documents for shipping to scanner as needed; assist with disposal of documents that do not require scanning

• Post-scan QC: Review PDFs for clarity, legibility, correct pagination, completeness, duplication (i.e. mistakes made in scanning process), and flag mistakes; store QC-ed documents in digital files as directed

• Previous document QC experience preferred; will be working with confidential material

• Will be trained and then work under direct supervision

• Required skills: Attention to detail, highly organized, ability to work efficiently, comfortable taking direction but also asking clarifying questions
