Registered Nurse- Medical Surgical

Job Description Hedrick Medical Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical Unit. The unit has 21 beds, including 4 ICU‑level beds, and primarily cares for adult patients. Shift Part‑time nights, 7 p.m.–7 a.m. Responsibilities Deliver safe, high‑quality nursing care using the nursing process. Coordinate and implement the plan of care for a group of assigned patients. Delegate appropriate tasks and provide supervision to other patient care staff. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Ensure documentation and care practices comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Demonstrate clinical proficiency and maintain professional standards in all aspects of patient care. Function independently and be accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team. Identify hospital resources and serve as a clinical resource for new employees. Demonstrate positive formal or informal leadership within the unit or department. Unit Details Patient population is primarily adult; very few patients are under the age of 18. Total of 21 beds, including 4 beds equipped for ICU‑level care when needed. Fast‑paced environment with a wide range of medical and surgical cases. Qualifications Current RN license in the state of Missouri (or a compact license). Associate Degree in Nursing. Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
