Accounting Specialist

Accounting SpecialistAn established organization in Cypress is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join its close-knit accounting team. This position is primarily focused on Accounts Payable and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on transactional accounting, high-volume credit card and expense reconciliations, and working collaboratively across departments.The Accounting Specialist will also cross-train in Accounts Receivable to provide backup support as needed.Key Responsibilities:Process, review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately and timelyReconcile high-volume company credit card and employee expense transactionsReview receipts, supporting documentation, expense reports, and GL coding for accuracyPrepare and assist with check runs, ACH payments, wires, and other payment activityMaintain vendor records, W-9s, banking information, and supporting documentationResearch and resolve invoice, payment, and reconciliation discrepanciesRespond to vendor inquiries and partner with internal departmentsAssist with month-end AP close and accounting-related projectsCross-train in Accounts Receivable, including customer invoicing, cash receipts, and collections supportMaintain organized accounting records and assist with audits and process improvementsQualifications:2+ years of hands-on Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experienceStrong AP experience with the ability to independently manage detailed transactional workExperience reconciling corporate credit cards and/or employee expense reports strongly preferredIntermediate or better Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with ERP/accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience is a plus but not requiredAR, billing, cash application, or collections exposure is a plusStrong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skillsComfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlinesProactive, resourceful, flexible, and team-orientedStrong written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working fully onsite in Cypress, CAIdeal Candidate:The ideal candidate is a hands-on AP professional who enjoys working with the details, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and is comfortable researching and resolving discrepancies independently. This person should be approachable, collaborative, eager to learn, and comfortable working within a smaller, close-knit accounting team.$55,000 - $60,000 a year
