Clinical Medical Social Worker- Emergency Department Contingent

Overview Contingent would be required to work a minimum of 3 shifts per month, with weekend and overnight availability each month. Responsibilities Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team and provides Clinical Medical Social Work services to patients and their families to improve or maintain social, emotional, functional and physical health. Provides consultation, education, and training to staff regarding psychosocial issues that impact the delivery of optimal health care services. Participates in the development and delivery of education, research and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Education & Licensure MSW required. Ohio Social Work license (LSW) required; LISW preferred. Physical Requirements Occasional exposure to biohazard waste, blood and/or bodily fluids, and driving motor vehicles; additional testing may be required. Lifting / Carrying: 11‑20 lbs; 21‑40 lbs. Pushing / Pulling: 0‑25 lbs, 26‑40 lbs, 41‑60 lbs, 61‑100 lbs with assistance. Working outdoors frequently: bend/twist, climb stairs/ladder, flexing/extending of neck, hand use (grasping, gripping, turning). Continuous tasks: sit, squat/kneel, stand, walk, audible speech, computer skills, decision making, hearing acuity, interpreting data, peripheral vision, problem solving, seeing – far/near.
