Senior AI/ML Engineer

Job Duties IDR is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer. The role is a 12-month contract position, primarily remote, based in Eagan, Minnesota. The primary responsibilities include designing, building, evaluating, and deploying production-grade AI/ML and Generative AI solutions focused on healthcare and enterprise applications. The role combines hands-on technical work with collaboration on AI system development, including retrieval-augmented generation, document intelligence, ML pipelines, and cloud-native deployment. Position Overview for the Senior AI/ML Engineer: Design and develop scalable AI solutions that utilize large language models, retrieval systems, and various data types. Build RAG pipelines, document ingestion workflows, semantic search, embeddings, and prompt engineering components. Create evaluation frameworks, guardrails, APIs, and implement production monitoring for AI solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate technical requirements into effective AI applications. Contribute to the deployment and monitoring of AI models in cloud environments. Requirements for the Senior AI/ML Engineer: 3+ years of AI / Machine learning engineering experience. Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field. Strong Python programming and SQL experience. Hands-on experience building Generative AI or RAG-based applications. Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, semantic search, query expansion, and citations. What’s in it for you? Remote work flexibility.
