Senior Clinical Research Coordinator

This position will serve as a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator within the UNC Kidney Center. The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, conduct, and evaluation of multi-faceted clinical research protocols, including study execution, developing strategies and solutions to improve study processes and execution, providing reviews of other team members' work product, and serving as mentor and subject matter expert.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements - Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience - Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to work and communicate with diverse populations effectively and professionally. At least 2 years of full time experience in clinical research as a Research Coordinator, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients. Ability to manage competing priorities, including adeptness at time management. Strong software and computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience - Experience supporting kidney related or nephrology clinical research studies. Significant patient facing experience in a clinical research setting. Demonstrated experience independently developing, implementing, and maintaining study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Advanced regulatory experience, including oversight of clinical research compliance and independent preparation and submission of IRB applications, amendments, continuing reviews, and reportable events.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements - Must be able to travel several times a month within the state of NC (within driving distance) as needed for research activities and in-person participant enrollment, up to 30%. Willingness to respond to off-hour emergencies or questions in the early morning hours (4-6am EST) or in the early evening (6-8pm EST). Must be able to work in office at the UNC Burnett Womack building at least 2 days per week, in a hybrid setting.
