Assistant Principal - Encinal Jr./Sr.High (1.0 FTE) - 2026/27 SY

Job Description Position: Site Principal. Alameda Unified School District serves approximately 9,000 students across seventeen schools, representing a diverse student body with 72 spoken languages. Job Goal Assist the Principal in fulfilling the chief responsibility of promoting the educational well‑being of each student in the school. Responsibilities Assist the Principal in general administration of the school and serve as acting Principal in their absence. Maintain safety procedures and student and personnel protocols. Requisition and maintain an inventory of materials, supplies, texts, and equipment. Propose class schedules and supervise extracurricular activities. Assist in the preparation of the master schedule and compile annual budget requests. Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services. Report and monitor student attendance and develop follow‑up procedures. Maintain discipline throughout the student body and provide supervision on and off campus. Ensure substitutes are present and covering classes. Assist department chairpersons with student teacher assignments and evaluations. Work with parents, faculty, and student groups to advance educational and related activities. Assist with appraisal and evaluation of the instructional program. Perform other tasks and assume responsibilities as assigned by the Principal. Qualifications Valid California Administrative Services Credential. General teaching qualifications and credential in California. At least 5 years of teaching experience. Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Bilingual desired: Cantonese, Spanish, Tagalog, and/or Vietnamese. Terms of Employment 210 days. Evaluation By Site Principal.
