Community Manager

Our work extends beyond traditional property management: we develop and operate office, coworking, meeting, event, and related real estate businesses with responsibility for both the experience within the community and the financial performance of the building(s). About the Role The Community Manager (CM) position is the: Heartbeat of the building, the business, and the culture. It is the intent that the community of the building and business would grow into the CM’s own image, becoming that CM’s own “era” within the longer story of the operation’s history. First point of contact for nearly all those that engage the building, setting the standard, culture, and expectations from that initial interaction. Cultivator and steward of a warm and inviting atmosphere where both members and visitors feel anticipated, welcomed, and known. Owner of the day-to-day operations and management of the facility and community. Daily responsibilities will range across supporting existing members, working new member and event prospects through the sales cycle, leasing and renewal management, managing service providers across facility and business needs, leading marketing activities to further generation of leads, and routinely collaborate with CEO, COO, and Ownership to further refine and deliver the best possible product. Ideal Candidate (Experience & Capabilities): Various skillsets, experiences, and preferences can make a really great Community Manager. The following experiences would meaningfully add to an individual’s proficiency within the role: Marketing experience that encompasses execution of tasks and assignments on a marketing schedule, digital and social media marketing, designing marketing content, and organizing target marketing campaigns. Customer service experience both in customer retention and regularly engaging new potential customers. Sales experience in responding to leads, getting to know the prospect and their needs within the initial meeting, and following up accordingly to move them from prospect to client. Organization skills both digitally (i.e., having managed a CRM before and can keep shared document spaces easy to navigate) and physically (i.e., keeping things neat and orderly, allowing for a great appearance and for ease of another person to utilize in the event of your absence). Project management experience in keeping both internal team members, external vendors or partners, and clients on pace to achieve intended results. Proven track record as a positive cultural addition with prior teams and organizations. Ideal Candidate (Operating Mindset): In Experience alone will not make someone successful in this position. The role requires an individual who genuinely enjoys serving others, taking ownership, bringing order to a varied operation, and moving between highly visible community building work and less visible administrative responsibilities. Candidates should consider whether the following recurring realities of the role would be energizing and meaningful or consistently draining as they consider their ideal fit for the role. Every day within the Community Manager role, you will need to approach or respond to others and ask, “How can I help?” regardless if it is a large and exciting project or a tedious tasks that you have answered many times before. Similarly, the Community Manager has to be willing to ask for help , leaning into humility and knowing that they are not expected to have all of the answers but that they can leverage all available resources before them to deliver on their owned outcomes. The role deals with a wide variety of tasks, knowledge, and documents that are called upon at varying increments, therefore, the Community Manager should feel comfortable serving as the trusted source on what we have, where it is at, and delivering it to the necessary party. For the company to hit its fiscal targets, the Community Manager has to be consistent in quality and execution with their daily assignments across marketing, sales, facility, community building, and so on. Without their execution, the company does not succeed. The variety of requests for the Community Manager’s time will range wildly in competence needed to address and across urgency and actual importance. The Community Manager must be able to discern and then prioritize the most important and urgent items first, without being distracted by activities that can be properly slotted for execution at other times. Connects personally with the missions of both their building and Prevenient and can translate those missions into influence for how they operate day to day. Finds value in both highly visible, relationship driven work and behind-the-scenes administrative work required to make the operation successful. Can create consistent forward momentum across multiple workstreams, including when priorities compete or the next step is not immediately obvious. Salary: $50,000 to $70,000 PTO: Unlimited Approved PTO post 6-months of employment Location: Full-time, in-person in Indianapolis, IN.
