Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies.

This department includes all functions related to operating room services, including intraoperative patient care. It also may include perfusion services, inpatient and/or outpatient services, and other operating room support functions. It does not include PACU, anesthesia functions, pre op holding, and/or central sterile functions. If your department is operating as a combined department with all surgery services combined, please notify FP&A and we can map it to "Surgical Services Combined Without Anesthesia" to provide you with an appropriate benchmark.

Day Shift 12 hr shifts, 0900-0930 , CST required . 3-5 years acute OR experience. Should be competent with ortho trauma, joint , neuro spine, davinci XI, advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeries.

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate?s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Scrub technician experience: Preferred
• Operating room experience and/or training course: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Certified Surgery Technician (CST) certification or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred
• National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certified: Required

Surgical Tech/OR Tech needed for 12-hour day shifts (9a–9p), with 3–5 years acute OR experience and strong skills in ortho trauma, joints, neuro/spine, Da Vinci XI, advanced lap and bariatric cases; CST/TS-C & BLS required.
