Assistant Cook – Japanese Yakitori / Kitchen Prep
We are looking for an Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team. Previous experience in Asian cuisine, Japanese cuisine, izakaya-style restaurants, yakitori, or grill/barbecue cooking is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities include preparing and cooking Japanese yakitori , assisting with daily prep, helping with ordering and inventory, receiving and storing ingredients, and supporting daily kitchen maintenance to keep the kitchen clean, organized, and efficient.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook Japanese yakitori and other kitchen items
- Assist with daily food prep and ingredient preparation
- Help with ordering, inventory, and receiving deliveries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Support daily kitchen maintenance and closing duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Asian or Japanese cuisine is a plus
- Yakitori, izakaya, grill, or barbecue experience is helpful
- Basic knife and prep skills preferred
- Reliable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
