Special Education Teacher - Brownsburg, Indiana

Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Life Skills or Structured Teach (Autism Support) in the Indianapolis area! This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a dedicated team and support a caseload of approximately 10–15 students within a structured, collaborative environment.

There are two distinct positions available:

Life Skills Teacher: Moderate Intervention certification required; schedule runs from 7:20 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
Structured Teach (Autism Support) Teacher: Mild Intervention certification required; schedule runs from 8:20 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.

What we’re seeking:

Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Indiana
Moderate Intervention or Mild Intervention certification, depending on role
Experience working with students with special needs, particularly in a Life Skills or Autism Support classroom
Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families
Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture

What you’ll do:

Design and adapt lesson plans to fit individual student needs
Provide direct instruction and support to a caseload of 10–15 students
Track and assess student progress toward IEP goals
Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
Maintain organized records and accurate documentation
