Our nationally recognized specialists treat a full range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, helping patients of all ages move, heal, and thrive.Join us and become part of a trusted network committed to excellence in orthopedic care.Ortho On-Call is a growing Urgent Care and we are currently hiring a **Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.** This position will join our exceptional team of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and sports medicine physicians and will ensure our teams continue to deliver quality care in a patient-focused setting.Ortho On-Call's walk-in urgent care clinics are designed specifically to treat acute orthopedic-related injuries and conditions and are supported by the board-certified physicians and full-service therapies of OrthoVirginia. The successful candidate will be a qualified and compassionate provider with a licensure to see all age ranges. As we are open 361 days a year, weekend and evening shifts will be required.* Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests* Fracture/Dislocation reductions/management, laceration repair, joint injections* Instructs patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plan and medications* Consults with physicians when warranted to assess patient condition and treatment plan* Ensures that medical charts and administrative paperwork are completed in a timely manner* Performs within guidelines of specific privileges approved by the governing body and delegated by the Medical Director* Provides support to medical and office staff**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities*** Ability to assess situations, resolve within scope of ability, or escalate as appropriate* Ability to respond effectively to emergencies, actual events, or drills* Ability to follow instructions and make decisions with little supervision* Ability to maintain professional demeanor in all aspects of role* Travels between facilities when indicated* Strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills**Candidate must have experience in:*** Sports injuries Sprains & strains Slips, trips, falls* Hand & wrist injuries Foot & ankle injuries Knee/shoulder injuries* Cuts & lacerations* Back & neck injuries* Broken bones* Sports physicals (NOVA & RIC)* Work-related injuries**Position Requirements*** Board Certified/Eligible* Prefer 2+ years of orthopedic experience or practice in Emergency/Urgent Care clinical/hospital setting* Active/current state medical license and eligible for a VA Medical License* DEA License* Physical health to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position #J-18808-Ljbffr
