LPN Staffing Coordinator

JOBSUMMARY: M-F 8AM - 5PM | On Call
Pay $27.25-$31.75 Theprimary purpose of your job position is to assist the Director of Nursing indetermining the staffing needs of the nursing department and to ensure that therequired number and type of nursing personnel are available 24 hours/day, 7days/week and to assure resident safety. JOBDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: AdministrativeFunctions
• Reviewthe staffing budgeted patterns of the nursing department. Review staffingmodel.
• Maintaina daily staffing pattern consistent with budgeted LHPPD.
• Participatein facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as requested by theDirector of Nursing.
• Receiveschedules from RN Team Leaders and LPN Medication Managers who self-scheduleand integrate into the staffing schedule for the entire department.
• Reviewthe finalized staffing schedule with the DON and post the schedule in alocation available to all.
• Assistthe DON in preparing staffing reports from scheduling and time and attendancesoftware.
• Notifythe DON when adequate staff is not available to meet resident care needs.
• Ensurethat daily staffing and census is posted per state regulations. PersonnelFunctions
• Ensurethat a sufficient number of CNAs are available at all times to ensure thatquality nursing care is provided.
• Ensurethat all nurse aide students perform under the direct supervision of a licensednurse from the education entity.
• Assistthe DON to monitor attendance by maintaining the log of absenteeism andtardiness.
• Reportoccupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, andhazardous chemicals in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.
• Assistthe DON to ensure that all nursing service personnel follow personnel includingappropriate dress and use of name badges. StaffDevelopment Functions
• Notifythe Nurse Educator when new associates are hired and available for orientation.
• Ensurethat all new nursing personnel are oriented to the facility, consistent withpolicy and procedures, prior to being assigned to the unit.
• Providesuggestions for orientation in-service and training, based on feedback fromnursing associates.
• Attendcontinuing education programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in yourprofession, as well as maintain your license/certification on a current status. ResidentRights Responsibilities
• Maintainthe confidentiality of all resident care information.
• Treatall residents fairly and with kindness, dignity and respect.
• Knockbefore entering a resident's room.
• Reportall allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property.
• Reportall complaints made by residents to the RN Team Leader. JOBREQUIREMENTS: Education
• Mustbe a graduate from an accredited school for Licensed Practical Nurses with acurrent, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN. Experience
• Musthave a working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word, Outlook andExcel. Scheduling and staffing experience is helpful.
• Industryspecific time and attendance tracking software as well as scheduling softwareis a plus. Specific Requirements
• Mustbe able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Mustpossess the ability to solve problems and make independent decisions whencircumstances warrant such action.
• Mustpossess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, familymembers, visitors, government agency personnel and the general public.
• Mustpossess the ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with otherpersonnel.
• Musthave patience, tact, a positive disposition and enthusiasm, as well as thewillingness to handle difficult people.
