Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to obstetric and gynecological patients on the Labor and Delivery unit. Coordinates patient care activities, monitors fetal and maternal health, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient deliveries.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Administer medications and perform procedures such as C-sections, D&C, and twin deliveries.
• Facilitate patient education and provide emotional support during labor and delivery.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and support staff to develop and execute individualized care plans.
• Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR system.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and certification requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid registered nurse license and current CST certification.
• At least 2 years of experience in high-risk obstetrics.
• Certification in Advanced EFM (AWHONN Intermediate or higher) required.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills in maternal-fetal medicine and emergency procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• BLS certification; ACLS and NRP preferred.
