This position will have the option of working remotely upon agreement of the supervisor but may be asked to come into the office periodically. The Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) is the agency responsible for the processing, oversight, and enforcement of professional licensing and permitting in the State of Wisconsin. Our values make it possible for us to fulfill our mission, with a set of shared principles and practices, and form the bedrock of how we operate, interact, and are seen by colleagues, partners, and other agencies.Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Business Application Services IT Director, in the Division of Enterprise Technology (DET), this position is responsible for providing technical expertise in the planning, design, implementation, and administration of Salesforce and MuleSoft applications and support services that have statewide impact. Responsibilities include research, standardization, deployment, administration, and support of tools and platforms associated with enterprise CRM and integration needs.This position will work on the development and enhancement of systems using Salesforce technologies (including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows) and MuleSoft for API-led connectivity and system integration. The incumbent will be expected to apply secure development practices, participate in DevSecOps pipelines, and incorporate cybersecurity measures throughout the system lifecycle. Familiarity with standards like NIST 800-218 (SSDF) and ISO 27034 is essential for developing secure systems.The developer will support application design, configuration, customization, integration, security, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The position also includes support for ongoing enhancements and problem resolution, working closely with customers, vendors, and internal IT staff. This role plays a key part in delivering and evolving enterprise-level Salesforce solutions, while also building secure, scalable APIs and data flows using MuleSoft. The developer will collaborate with IS Specialists, Security Analysts, and Project Managers to deliver robust solutions. Integration of multiple data sources, SaaS platforms, and legacy systems will be required. Production system support and adherence to security policies and compliance frameworks are ongoing expectations.For more information, please view the complete position description. Level will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications.Salary Information Starting salary for the IS Systems Development Services Senior (07-34) will be between $30.76-$47.72 and starting salary for the IS Systems Development Services Specialist (07-33) be between $35.90-$55.06 hourly. Salary will be determined by applicant qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.Job Details Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. Qualifications Minimally qualified candidates at the senior level will have experience with all the following: Experience in performing IT application development using Agile, DevSecOps, or other modern practices to implement complex business and technology requirements using platforms as a service (PaaS), such as Salesforce, MuleSoft, or similar CRM platforms. Experience analyzing and resolving complex application support issues, production incidents, defects, root-cause analysis, and/or application enhancements for Salesforce and similar enterprise platforms. Education, training, or experience in evaluating solutions and guiding implementation decisions for the Salesforce Platform, Apex, Lightning Web Components, OmniStudio, Visualforce, Flows, Agentforce, and/or Process Builder. Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.In addition to the minimum qualifications, applicants at the specialist level will also have all the following: Experience working with architectural design principles for REST and other integration patterns. Experience with testing automation and production support in Salesforce or a similar platform. Education, training, or experience applying secure development frameworks and practices, including NIST 800-218 SSDF, ISO 27034, or comparable secure software-development standards. Experience with data management and integration considerations in Salesforce or a similar platform. Experience contributing to DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, release management, and automated testing using tools such as Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, Gearset, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
