Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

Overview Employment Type: Full Time Shifts Available: Days (Monday - Friday) Hours: 10-hour Shifts- 7am or 8am start times Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA We are seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, internally referred to as ourCardiac Interventional Technologistor Cath Lab/IR Technologist. Our Cath Lab Tech’s will operate under the oversight of a physician (either a Cardiologist or Radiologist). The role involves assisting in procedures by scrubbing or monitoring physiological and hemodynamic data relevant to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures conducted in the cardiovascular lab. Responsibilities Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures, which involve threading catheters through blood vessels to diagnose and treat various heart/cardiovascular conditions Ensure that all necessary equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging devices, are properly set up and functioning before each procedure Help prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned on the procedure table During procedures, monitor patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and hemodynamic data to ensure their safety and provide real-time information to the medical team May scrub in and assist the physician directly during the procedure, handling catheters, guidewires, and other equipment as needed Accurately document all aspects of the procedure, including patient information, medications administered, and any complications that arise Help transfer patients to recovery areas after the procedure, monitor their condition and provide any necessary post-procedure instructions or assistance Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement initiatives and training new staff to ensure that procedures are performed safely and effectively Track the par level of all instruments and supplies, and provide support for both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures in all capacities for the cardiaccathlab Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING1. Requires previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data, preferably in a Cardiovascular Lab.2. Cardiovascular technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.3. BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required.5. Proficient computer skills.
