Job Description
Exciting ER Nurse Opportunity!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12-hour Nights (1900-0730)
- Availability: Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Beds/Trauma Bays: 11
- Triage:
- 1 triage room available
- Travelers expected to perform triage
- Holding Area:
- No separate area; ER nurses manage their own holds
- Psych/Seclusion Rooms: None
- In-house Security: Yes
- Patient Volume: 20-40 patients per day
- Ratios: State ratios, no more than 1:4
- Required Certifications:
- TNCC
- ACLS
- PALS
- BLS
- Common Diagnoses:
- Wide variety of cases across all ages
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years ER experience within the last 3 years
- Medical Staff:
- 1 MD present at all times
- 1 House Supervisor available
- Unit techs from 1200-2030 when available
- Equipment:
- Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow NC, Airvo
- RT performs ABGs, breathing treatments, EKGs
- Telemetry:
- No monitor techs; RNs read strips
- Imaging:
- CT and X-ray immediately adjacent
- Phlebotomy:
- Performed by phlebotomists; RNs will draw if starting IVs
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating Requirements: Desirable to ICU but not required
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
- Orientation: Department-specific orientation provided
- Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
