Outline of Responsibilities As a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market you: Provide a high level of customer service and practice safe food‑handling procedures. Demonstrate product knowledge and preparation techniques. Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks. Count and weigh incoming articles, compare results against invoices, and examine meats in storage while rotating to avoid aging. Assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs, maintaining a positive, customer‑focused work environment. Use weekly ad items and product location knowledge to guide customers, and perform and follow our “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” Programs. Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department. Thrive in a fast‑paced environment while supporting team collaboration. Qualifications Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent and basic math knowledge. Dependable, reliable, and capable of performing related duties as assigned. Outgoing, friendly behavior; positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment. Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area. Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes. Capable of standing up to four hours continuously; total shift of eight hours required, including walking up to two miles per shift. Work in a temperature‑controlled area; perform general housekeeping, including cleaning tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, and freezer. Good vision required for using sharp knives, band saws, grinders, sausage makers, box cutters, wrapping machines, and tenderizers. Lift/carry products horizontally or vertically between 25 to 90 lbs., from 4” to 60”, up to 10 feet for 20 hours. Use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs., requiring a force of up to 85 lbs., up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours. Move racks weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring a force of up to 25 lbs., up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours. Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring a force greater than 35 lbs., up to 2 feet for up to 1 hour. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $17.20–$23.20 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
