Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be a vital diagnostic specialist, performing advanced nuclear medicine procedures that utilize radiopharmaceuticals to capture unique functional and molecular images of the human body. You will be instrumental in meticulously preparing, administering, and imaging patients, directly contributing to accurate diagnoses and guiding crucial treatment decisions for a diverse range of medical conditions. Every day you will expertly handle and administer various radiopharmaceuticals, utilizing state-of-the-art gamma cameras and SPECT/CT or PET/CT scanners, meticulously positioning patients, tailoring scan protocols to specific clinical needs, and ensuring optimal image acquisition for precise diagnostic interpretation. You will prioritize comprehensive patient screening for safety, conduct thorough patient education on procedure details and radiation safety, and continuously monitor patient comfort throughout the study. To be successful in this role, you will leverage your deep understanding of nuclear medicine physics, radiopharmacy, and cross-sectional anatomy to produce consistently high-quality, diagnostically rich images across a wide array of studies. You will collaborate effectively with nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, and referring physicians, providing indispensable diagnostic insights.!!Sign-on Bonus!! Job Requirements Required Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program and Certification through the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board or CAMRTWashington State DOH Licensure for Radiological TechnologistCurrent CPR validation and maintain twenty-four (24) medical education credits every two (2) yearsRegistration with either NMTCB or CAMRTCertification in PET, PET/CT or Nuclear Cardiac imaging or successful completion of certification within one (1) year of hireOne (1) year experience or one (1) year internship at Virginia Mason or one (1) year internship in a similar setting through Bellevue College, three (3) years preferredThis position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks; Ability to make decisions and solve problems; Supervisory and communication skills to supervise student technologistsRadiopharmaceutical skills to determine proper dosage; Phlebotomy/injection skills to withdraw blood and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patientsAn understanding of basic physics, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and math; A working knowledge of all Nuclear Medicine proceduresAbility to operate a variety of computers/scintigraphic imaging instruments; EKG skillsExcellent patient care and communication skills and a working knowledge of radiation safetyPreference will be given to applicants who hold a four (4) year college degree with a concentration in nuclear medicine or sciencesJob SummaryRequisition ID: 2026-478111Department: Nuclear MedicineHours / Pay Period: 80Shift: DayStandard Hours: Monday - Friday, 10hr shiftsLocation: WA-SEATTLEPosted Pay Range: $56.78 - $84.95 / hourCompany Name: Virginia Mason Medical CenterTelecommute: No
