Business Banking Relationship Manager

Cultivate, build, and manage relationships with a portfolio of small business clients Build a pipeline of new business and increase BMO’s market share Develop and execute sales strategies to attract new business clients and expand existing relationships Develop internal and external networks and referral sources Generate appointments and opportunities through targeted sales efforts Develop, maintain, and execute business plans and relationship management strategies Identify prospective customers and cross-sell additional products and services Build client rapport, credibility, and trust Understand the local market and develop relationships with centres of influence Deliver exceptional customer service and provide expertise, responsive service, and support Develop long-term profitable relationships and expand wallet share Answer inquiries and provide accurate information about business banking products and services Understand customer needs and offer financial solutions Resolve or lift issues Develop solutions and recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs Provide advice and guidance on implementation of solutions Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations Monitor and track performance and address issues Coordinate database management and ensure data governance alignment Build change management plans and lead or participate in change management activities Provide input into planning and implementation of operational programs Execute timely, accurate, and efficient work Support development and promotion of business/group programs Follow security, safeguarding, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering, confidentiality, risk, and regulatory procedures Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make sound, risk-informed decisions Requirements Typically between 4–6 years of relevant experience Post-secondary degree in related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong financial analysis skills Ability to interpret financial statements Ability to assess creditworthiness Strong knowledge of business banking products Knowledge of lending processes and loan documentation Knowledge of supporting policies, procedures, and technologies Strong experience with customer sales and service Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience In-depth verbal and written communication skills In-depth collaboration and team skills In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills In-depth influence skills In-depth data-driven decision-making skills Core Competencies Demonstrates strong financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret financial statements, while effectively managing client relationships and executing sales strategies in business banking.
