Our mission extends beyond our walls as we strive to be a community hub for early childhood development, connecting with childcare providers, teens, young parents, and early childhood advocates.Position Summary:The mission of the Program Presenter is to work with the Education team to create magical and memorable moments for families through performances and interactions, ensuring that every guest has an exceptional and engaging experience and that they leave the museum wanting to come back as soon as possible.Key Responsibilities:In-House EducationPerform engaging, memorized performances on STEAM, literacy, physical play, and other topicsIndividually interact with Guests to provide a personalized experience within the museumPerform daily operations (e.g. program set-up and re-set, cleaning costume pieces and props, checking supplies and quantities, recording attendance of programs.)Help in the evaluation and enhancement of programs to ensure quality engagementAssist with special characters as needed including handling and performingTrain incoming staff on programsOutreach PresenterPerform entertaining and educational outreach programs to target audiences with crowd sizes ranging from 5-300 individualsKeep all outreach materials and program inventory organized, cataloged, and stockedRepresent OCM in-person during performancesWork with Education team on the development of new programs and charactersAssist with special characters as neededTrain incoming staff on programsMuseum w/o Wall Community Event AssistantWork with Education leadership to facilitate Museum without Walls events around the communityAssist with set up, facilitation, and engagement during variety of festival eventsKeep all Museum without Walls materials inventoried, organized, cataloged, and stocked leading up to and immediately following eventInteract with diverse audiences and represent OCM to the communityPre-event Planning and AssistanceWork with Education department to ensure all materials for upcoming outreaches, programs, and special events are gathered and prepared and company vehicles are free of trash, loaded, and ready for upcoming outreaches and eventsHelp ready the museum for upcoming special event weekends, including gathering supplies and costumes, hanging decorations, creating community craft examples, and the likeAssist with the collection and inputting of monthly data related to programming and outreachesCommunicate, as requested by Director of Education, upcoming outreach, MWoW, and programmatic needs to individuals outside the organizationQualifications:Experience in Early Childhood Education, Museum Education, Informal Education, and/or Theater preferredMust enjoy working with the public and demonstrate friendliness, professionalism, enthusiasm, and a customer-focused approachShould possess excellent organizational skills, a considerable degree of initiative, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and timeliness in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to work a weekday and weekend scheduleSuccessful completion of a background check requiredMust possess a valid driver's license with good recordHigh level of punctuality and dependabilityHigh EnergySound decision makingHigh level of punctuality and dependabilityDesire to interact with guests of all agesPositive and adaptive attitudeAble to take initiativeComfortable in front of a crowd as small as 5 and as large as 300Experience and comfort driving pick-up truck with trailer preferredBilingual English/Spanish preferredPhysical Qualification:Stand and walk for majority of shift to engage with visitors and program participantsNavigate different areas of the Museum to assist visitors and ensure a positive experienceBend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and reach to conduct inventory and prepare for eventsWork outside in varying temperatures for up to 6 hours per event for up to 7 festivals annually and occasional outdoor outreach performancesPerform repetitive tasks, including administrative work and entering data into computer software programsPush or pull equipment, such as a small flatbed and wheeled casesLift and carry items up to 20 pounds alone, 80 pounds in a group, including educational materials, traveling exhibits, cleaning materials, etc…Must have weekend availabilityCompensation: Qualifications and experience will be considered in the compensation for this position.Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified individuals in accordance with the applicable federal, state, and local law.
