To complete your application, you will need the following information: 10 years of work history For each employer you will need: --Dates worked --Employer name and location (city and state) --Employer phone number --Your position with the employer --Your duties --Your reason for leaving Education history Work references Personal references Position Description HEAVY EQUIPMENT TRANSPORT DRIVER Classification: Non-Exempt/Seasonal Compensation: Prevailing Wage or Comparable Reports to: Equipment Division Manager Work Location: Montana/North Dakota/Wyoming/Nevada Position Objective : Drivers will safely, responsibly and efficiently load and unload construction equipment on various types of trailers and deliver the equipment to various job locations across MT, WY, ND and NV. Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the safe and responsible loading/unloading of construction equipment and safe and responsible operation of tractor trailer.
- Responsible for inspecting vehicle for proper and safe operating condition before and after each trip.
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor. Clean equipment on a regular basis.
- Must maintain a DOT driver's log and other required transport documentation, adhere to all local, state, and federal (FMCSA) regulations and ensure DOT compliance at all times.
- Must be familiar with oversize/overweight regulations in the state in which we operate.
- Effectively communicate via 2-way radio and cell phone with supervisor and other team members.
- Position requires working with truck components, including brake adjustments, tie-down of equipment, as well as climbing in/out of cabs, on/off and over/under equipment, and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Travel to outlying areas may be required and position may occasionally be required to stay overnight.
- Be observant of changing road/traffic conditions and adjust driving accordingly.
- Class A CDL with tanker, hazmat and doubles/triples endorsements required
- 3-5 years of experience hauling heavy equipment.
- Clean driving record, trucking experience and knowledge of FMCSA Regulations required.
- Display an uncompromising focus on safety by properly following company policies and MSHA/DOT/DEQ regulations for safe working procedures and protection of the environment.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
- Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Ability to do basic math.
- Must require minimal supervision.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
- Completion of grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- At least 20/40 acuity (Snellen) in each eye with or without correction. At least 70 degrees peripheral in horizontal meridian measured in each eye.
- Must be able to perform with or without accommodations.
- Must be available to travel in Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming.
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, and as needed, safety-toed boots, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment.
- Employee will be required to work in outdoor environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures and weather.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, sit, shovel, sweep, rake, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms, possibly for extended periods.
- Requires occasional moving/lifting of up to 50 pounds during the course of the work day.
