Respiratory Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, 3x12.0 hours per week.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as directed by medical prescription. This role operates within the scope of professional licensing and requires minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include evaluating patient conditions and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures and equipment to patients, and educating them during discharge.

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy to aid in secretion clearance.
• Administer suctioning using various methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).
• Monitor patient oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Review patient's chest X-rays and conduct pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with bronchoscopy, chest tube placements, and other respiratory care procedures.
• Perform CPR per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Maintain mechanical ventilation and perform equipment tests.
• Document patient treatments and responses accurately in medical records.

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license.
• Experience in various respiratory care procedures, including but not limited to endotracheal tube insertion and tracheostomy care.
• Ability to perform arterial punctures and recognize basic arrhythmias.
