Job Summary
T he Landscaping Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, health, and safety of the organization's outdoor grounds and landscapes. This role performs a variety of landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including lawn care, plant and shrub maintenance, irrigation system upkeep, and routine property inspections. The Landscaping Technician also assists with general facility maintenance activities and supports the maintenance team as needed to ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment.
Job Description
- Perform routine landscaping and groundskeeping activities to maintain the appearance and condition of facility grounds.
- Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
- Plant, water, fertilize, prune, and care for flowers, shrubs, trees, and other vegetation.
- Remove weeds, debris, leaves, and other materials from outdoor areas.
- Monitor plant health and identify potential issues requiring corrective action.
- Inspect, maintain, and perform basic repairs on sprinkler and irrigation systems.
- Operate, clean, and maintain landscaping equipment and tools, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other groundskeeping equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of facility grounds to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, or landscaping issues.
- Address minor issues and report significant concerns to management.
- Ensure walkways, parking lots, and outdoor common areas remain clean, safe, and accessible.
- Follow all safety procedures and use equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Assist in coordinating the work of landscaping and groundskeeping contractors when applicable.
- Monitor vendor performance and report service concerns.
- Support the facility maintenance team with general interior and exterior maintenance activities as needed.
- Assist with special projects, seasonal maintenance, and facility improvement initiatives.
Skills Required
- Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of lawn care, plant maintenance, and landscaping practices.
- Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality grounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain attractive, healthy, and well-kept facility grounds.
- Ensure landscaping equipment and irrigation systems remain in good working condition.
- Identify and address grounds maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional outdoor environment.
- Provide reliable support to facility maintenance operations and special projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining irrigation or sprinkler systems.
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance practices.
- Experience coordinating with contractors or vendors.
- Valid driver's license.
Education
- High school dip loma or GED required.
Pay Rate
- $19 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
