\n Pay Range: $48.90–$73.36 per hour

Job Overview

\n

A healthcare organization in White Plains, New York, is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join its imaging team.

\n

The MRI Technologist will perform routine and selected special-procedure MRI examinations while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and an excellent patient experience. This role requires strong technical judgment, careful patient positioning, and the ability to work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and outpatient imaging staff.

\n

The position includes rotation to additional outpatient imaging locations as needed.

\n

Responsibilities

\n

Perform routine and selected special-procedure MRI examinations
\n Prepare and position patients correctly based on specific imaging protocols
\n Complete required MRI safety screening and body-part questionnaires
\n Ensure proper image labeling and documentation
\n Produce high-quality diagnostic images and review completed studies for technical quality and completeness
\n Assist physicians and radiologists during procedures when needed
\n Educate patients and family members regarding scheduled examinations
\n Provide age-appropriate care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
\n Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout MRI procedures
\n Perform quality assurance testing and equipment calibrations as needed
\n Maintain cleanliness of MRI rooms, equipment, coils, and accessories
\n Report malfunctioning equipment promptly
\n Prepare patient imaging CDs when requested
\n Communicate STAT imaging results or urgent information to appropriate providers when directed
\n Assist with routine office and patient-flow responsibilities, including:
\n Answering phones
\n Checking in patients
\n Obtaining prior reports or imaging
\n Notifying front-desk staff when examinations are complete
\n Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education
\n Serve as an instructor or preceptor when assigned
\n Rotate to other outpatient imaging locations based on operational needs
\n Assist with emergency imaging coverage when necessary
\n Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

\n

Required

\n

High school diploma or equivalent
\n Certificate from an accredited Radiologic Technology school or hospital-based radiography program
\n ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging – ARRT(MR) upon hire
\n New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license upon hire
\n American Heart Association BLS certification within 90 days of hire
\n IV certification within 180 days of hire
\n Strong knowledge of MRI safety and imaging protocols
\n Ability to safely work throughout all MRI zones
\n Strong patient-positioning and image-quality skills
\n Excellent communication and patient-care abilities
\n Ability to work effectively with patients across a wide range of ages and clinical needs

Preferred

\n

1–3 years of MRI Technologist experience
\n Previous outpatient MRI experience
\n Experience assisting with MRI procedures
\n Previous clinical preceptor or teaching experience
\n Experience rotating between multiple imaging sites
