Job Summary

Polysomnographer, Polysomnography: This night-shift position supports adult and geriatric patients undergoing sleep studies in an acute-care setting. The role involves polysomnography procedures, patient monitoring, and management of sleep-related conditions in a 2:1 patient ratio.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification, Oregon Polysomnography License, valid compact license in hand at submission, and at least 1 year of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with sleep studies, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), electrocardiography (ECG), electroencephalography (EEG), oxygen saturation monitoring, end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring, patient education, and polysomnography scoring.
• Schedule: Night shifts are 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Block scheduling is required, and weekends are required; the Friday night shift extends into Saturday morning.
• Additional Information: The position supports adult and geriatric patients with obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and periodic limb movement syndrome. Responsibilities include baseline sleep polysomnography, adult Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), arousal evaluation, airway pressure therapy monitoring, respiratory event assessment, and sleep-stage scoring. The assignment includes sleep studies with approximately 15 visits per day across four rooms and does not require floating or on-call coverage.
