Shipping Clerk

Prepares product for shipment. Verifies and records shipment data.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read pack id's and job travelers and determine what is being shipped or going to stock.
• General math and computer skills.
• Able to count and measure.
• Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
• Understand packaging requirements for product protection against shipping damage.
• Comprehend parcel and LTL shipments. Powered hand truck training, as required.
• Valid driver's license is a must.
• Overtime with some Saturday work required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Function as a participating team member.
• Package and ship product to requirements by following the processes.
• Examine packaged product to ensure shipments meet specifications per the processes in shipping.
• Recognize available UPS and Fed Ex, carrier deadlines, and carrier shipping methods processing the shipments in a timely fashion to make the cut off time.
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Typing at least 25 words per minute.

Physical Demands:

• Lift and carry 40 pounds (with assistance, if necessary).
• Standing, with intermittent bending and walking.

All candidates must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
