Production Manager

Responsible for daily production of the plant. Lead, supervise, direct, evaluate and develop production team. Work with all departments to ensure positive synergies. Responsible for achieving performance measures for safety, customer expectations, quality & productivity. Meet or exceed customer expectations for on-time delivery and quality of product delivered. Cross train workforce. Provide backup to positions as needed to ensure efficient operation. Lead continuous improvement efforts. Coordinate production activities with maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum use of both the employee and equipment resources. Responsible for the timely, efficient, thorough, and effective cleaning and sanitation of their area of responsibility, including but not limited to production or packaging equipment and the surrounding areas or rooms, support areas, and other areas as may be required. Assure investigations are completed timely with root cause found and corrective actions implemented. Support GMP compliance and assist in correcting GMP issues. Strive to attain standardization of work through work instructions, setup sheets and employee training. Manage production supplies through Kanban system. Collaborate with the Commercialization group during production scale-up efforts, production validation, and customer trials. Lead others in maintaining good housekeeping and an orderly work area; support 5S initiatives. Implementation of productivity improvements. Reviews and analyzes production to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. Develops and implements methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. Consults with Tech Ops to modify machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products. Effectively communicates any changes in schedules, production or procedures to all shifts. Conduct routine one-on-one meetings with direct reports. Assure schedule and resources such as raw materials, staffing and equipment align. Oversee the production schedule. Aligns plant production objectives to the plant and company vision. Assure regulatory compliance including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, MPCA, DNR, FDA, FLSA, EEO, & OFCCP. Initiate and support continuous improvement and elimination of waste and variation in processes using established improvement processes.
