About this Job MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Lafayette MACC - Therapy. The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner, demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches, strong customer service skills, and effective communication with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds. As a Physical Therapist, you will provide services that include screening and evaluation, treatment planning and implementation, re‑assessment and revision, re‑evaluation, discharge planning, and thorough documentation in a variety of settings. You will participate in program planning, protocol development, and help the team meet established goals. Join one of the largest healthcare systems in the Baltimore‑Washington metroregion, also recognized as one of the “Healthiest Maryland Businesses.” Primary Duties Provide evaluation services, including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, determination of recommendations, and documentation of results. Explain evaluation findings and treatment plans to patients and families, incorporating them into goal setting. Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, the patient’s presentation, and the evolving health‑care environment. Consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated, recognize and document changes in the patient’s condition that require modification of the plan of care or a medical/rehabilitation consultation. Complete appropriate discharge planning and follow‑up care; accurately and timely document and charge for patient‑care activities. Create clear documentation of the patient’s course of care, including initial evaluation/plan of care that establishes baseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluations. Demonstrate effective time management, meet productivity expectations, and manage an accurate schedule. Provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathy within a patient‑consumer‑driven environment. Take initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and the organization. Serve as a clinical instructor to assign students, and assist with orientation and mentoring of inexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy. Licensed in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for your specific location(s). American Heart Association BLS and CPR certification.
