Senior Flavourist

About the role The Senior Flavourist position is a key role that will develop commercially successful flavours based on customer projects and portfolio needs. This individual will interact successfully with regional and global creative teams and implement innovative citrus technologies strategic for citrus growth. Proactively drive flavour innovation and technology in citrus and support major customers when and where needed. Key responsibilities Develop commercially successful flavours based on customer projects and portfolio needs. Work closely with the application team to develop successful products. Work with customers while supporting sales and marketing to ensure the successful development of new flavour business utilizing citrus technology. Provide support to other flavourists in the region with citrus projects, especially as an internal resource for basic raw materials and provide an understanding of material functionality. Maintain relationships with global contacts and visit the global citrus centre quarterly. Maintain contact with R&D personnel in Lakeland to keep appraised of new technology and developments within the flavour group. Qualifications and skills Four‑year degree (BS/BA in biological or chemical science preferred). Minimum of 10 years experience in the flavour industry creative function (entry level through flavourist). Completed qualifying flavourist training programme and/or proven track record at an equivalent level with a competitor. Certified member of the Flavor Chemist Society with a proven track record at an equivalent level with a competitor. Fluent in English. Additional languages highly desirable. Excellent communication, computer and maths skills. Extensive experience and knowledge of the food and beverage industry, specifically with experience within a flavour house or deep knowledge of yeast extract and fermentation technologies. Compensation and benefits The pay range for this position is $140,467 – $244,122 in annual salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay‑for‑performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity. In addition, this position is also eligible to earn a performance‑based incentive compensation.
