Prep Cook PositionA Prep Cook is responsible for providing a supportive role to kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and ingredients. Their duties include organizing and labeling food items in storage closets, performing tasks like chopping ingredients and sanitizing their workstation during and after service.ResponsibilitiesPrep Cooks perform various food preparation, cooking, and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for patrons. Their duties and responsibilities include:Perform routine kitchen tasks.Follow the prep list created to plan duties.Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.QualificationsProven food preparation and food handling experience.Working knowledge of proper food handling procedures.The ability to follow standardized recipes.The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.The ability to work in a team.Excellent communication skills.Exceptional customer service skills.Benefits/PerksAn extensive and well-rounded training programContinued career development and growth opportunitiesMedical, dental, and vision insuranceSame/Next-Day Pay AvailableCompensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hourA SPORTS BAR SETTING WITH A FINE DINING FLAVORAt Art & Jakes, we strive to give our customers the best dining experience.
