Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a Birthing Center, averaging 100-200 births per month
• Unit has 16 staffed beds with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:00), various days of the week
• Required to work every third weekend
• On-call required per unit needs
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to like units and sister facilities within the North region
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and vaginal delivery support
• Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM, spiral electrode placement, and IUPC placement and calibration
• Experience caring for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Support postpartum recovery including couplet care, lactation support, and wound assessment
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Facility holds Magnet designation for nursing excellence
• First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during specific weeks
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Previous UCHealth employees must disclose name used during employment for eligibility verification
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
