Title: Project Manager - Materials Testing

Pay: $85,000 - $125,000 + bonus

Location: Wichita, KS

Duration : Permanent/Direct Hire

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead construction materials and engineering projects from planning through completion. This is an opportunity to step beyond day-to-day technical work and take ownership of project delivery, client relationships, budgets, schedules, and team coordination .

You’ll work closely with clients, engineers, field teams, contractors, and internal specialists to keep projects moving, solve problems, and ensure high-quality results. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and natural leader who enjoys both the technical and business sides of project management.

What You’ll Do

• Lead small to medium-sized projects from kickoff through successful completion.
• Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and execution plans.
• Serve as a key client contact and build long-term relationships.
• Coordinate engineers, technicians, contractors, vendors, and specialized resources.
• Monitor project progress, costs, quality, and schedule while proactively addressing issues.
• Lead project safety efforts and promote a strong safety culture.
• Manage change orders, invoicing, project financials, and collections.
• Identify project risks and develop strategies to protect the client and organization.
• Drive continuous quality improvement and ensure deliverables meet expectations.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related technical field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience ; or 9+ years of equivalent experience.
• Proven project management experience within construction materials, engineering, inspection, or a related industry .
• Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, teams, contractors, and client relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple offices and technical disciplines.
• Valid driver’s license as required.

Preferred: PE, PG, ICC, NICET, MoDOT, IDOT, or similar professional certifications.
