This contract opportunity extends through May 2027 with an immediate start and offers a chance to make a significant impact in a supportive K-8 educational environment. Providing direct speech and language services to a caseload of 35–40 students, you will work a consistent 37.5-hour week, collaborating with educators and families near Morganton, NC.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Experience in school-based settings preferred
- Skilled in evaluating and developing individualized education plans (IEPs) for PreK through 8th grade
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with diverse teams
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt intervention techniques to meet student needs
- Commitment to compliance with state and federal education guidelines
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders for students aged PreK-8
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in collaboration with special education and classroom teams
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions—both individual and group—to foster student progress
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes in line with district and legal standards
- Offer ongoing consultation to teachers and parents, supporting generalization of new skills across settings
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and ongoing professional development
