Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to help our patients through their journey from the moment the child is brought through the door through the time the child leaves to go home. You'll get to help our kids grow into the new person that they want to be. You will provide evaluations and therapy services, education and training to meet the needs of our patients. Responsibilities include providing evaluation and therapy services, demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, working with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care, developing leadership skills through mentoring and education, supporting the ongoing development and improvement of the department, maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation, and offering exceptional care following the Shriners Hospitals for Children® FOCUSED©™ Program.

Required qualifications include a Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy, OT licensed in state of practice, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred qualifications include 1 year occupational therapy experience; new graduates considered and pediatric experience.
