Senior Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

The U.S. AutoForce Senior Director of Warehouse Operations will partner closely with the Vice President of Operations to lead and optimize a nationwide warehouse network, ensuring operational excellence, scalability, and alignment with business objectives. This role provides leadership across multiple regions, typically overseeing 6+ regional leaders and a network of 20-40 distribution facilities.

This position is open to candidates anywhere within the United States. Our ideal candidate will be located in the Central or Western regions of the country, particularly those who reside near a U.S. AutoForce facility. Relocation may be considered for the right candidate. Regular travel is required to support operations across the network.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports VP Operations in defining, evaluating and driving achievement of both operational goals and operational strategy, analyzing areas for improvement where necessary

• Works cross functionally to identify short and long-term strategic needs of the operations organization and develops implementable strategies to achieve goals

• Develops internal capability and aligns resources to go after improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost

• Manages Operational Excellence team responsible for implementing and standardizing suite of metrics that can be used to performance manage operations across all locations

• Manages Logistics team responsible for coordinating and optimizing freight moves into and across warehouse network. Partners with the VP on acquisition review and implementation. Determine warehouse placement, timing, and size.

• Manages Strategic Growth and Planning team responsible for lease management, market expansion and incentive negotiation.

• Stays current on operational industry trends to ensure USAF stays current and relevant

• Researches and implements the appropriate automation to drive efficiencies and minimize cost.

• Works with Operation Leaders to set KPIs and leverages data analytics to drive decision-making and measure success.

• Performs consistent onsite visits to understand the location/network challenges, drive engagement and solicit feedback and ideas.

• Works with the Center of Excellence Team to inspect operational SOPs and holds all leaders accountable for results.

• Establishes consistent and multi-faceted communications plans and channels to ensure effective two-way dialogue between the locations and the operations functions.

• Networks with key vendors, experts, and external operational experts/forums and expects the team to do the same.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

• 15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including 10+ years managing multi-site or regional operations

• Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership, budgeting, and cost-per-unit management

• Proven track record of driving measurable improvements in cost, quality, safety, and service metrics at scale

• Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams to effect change with limited direction

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across Sales, HR, Finance, and executive leadership

• Skilled in change management and organizational development in fast-growing or evolving environments

• Experience leading continuous improvement programs that resulted in quantifiable cost savings, cycle time reduction, or quality gains.

• Ability to work in a changing and ambiguous environment, with an entrepreneurial approach

• Ability to use business judgment to effectively prioritize and action requests

• Excellent business judgment, problem-solving, quantitative analysis, and communication executive management skills

• Ability to travel at least 50% of time
