Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of two years of recent relevant experience License: Active RN license in hand at the time of submission; no exceptions Certifications: BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association Must-Have: Proficient in Epic Previous travel experience required Ability to work every other weekend, float, and holidays within the contract Description: This position is for an RN specializing in post-operative care. The unit focuses on orthopedic, spinal, bariatric, and colorectal surgical patients. It also caters to trauma patients and manages medical-surgical overflow as census permits. The typical patient ratio is 1:7. Candidates must be comfortable with the outlined patient ratios. The unit has the capability to monitor telemetry patients. Every candidate must have experience with telemetry nursing. Travelers must work two of three winter holidays as part of the contract. Compliance with facility requirements is essential, including no prior license or background issues. Fit testing requirements apply, and any history of issues will eliminate a candidate from consideration. Candidates will be required to pass a cardiology proficiency test before contract commencement. This test includes rhythm identification and interpretation. Care responsibilities include administering medications, managing multiple patient care needs, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
