Quality Assurance Technician - Food Manufacturing

What You'll Do

• Assure products meet compliance specifications and perform final product approval checks.
• Analyze processing and quality data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate findings and recommendations regarding process performance and quality concerns.
• Assess process quality parameters and food safety systems daily.
• Monitor and verify:
• Cross-check procedures
• Raw material compliance
• Equipment calibration
• Preventive maintenance activities
• Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Food safety and quality systems
• Employee training records
• Internal audits
• Analytical testing performed in control rooms
• Assist with training new food safety and quality chemists, analysts, operators, technicians, and personnel from other departments.
• Handle routine quality and food safety issues under direct supervision.
• Escalate complex concerns to management or appropriate personnel.
• Utilize spreadsheets and word processing software to maintain records, reports, and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous Quality Assurance experience in the food manufacturing industry is required.
• Knowledge of food safety and quality programs.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify trends and communicate findings effectively.
• Experience with spreadsheets and word processing applications required.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to use computers and perform detailed documentation tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Environmental Conditions

• Food manufacturing and spice blending facility.
• Frequent exposure to strong spice aromas.
• Exposure to production equipment, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
• Must follow all food safety, GMP, PPE, and sanitation requirements.
• Fast-paced environment with frequent interaction between production and quality teams.
