The Opportunity We're looking for a Sonny's BBQ Cook who is passionate about great food and thrives in a team environment. You'll play an essential role in creating memorable guest experiences by preparing delicious, high-quality meals, following proven recipes and food safety standards, and working together with your teammates to keep the kitchen running smoothly. What You'll Do (include, but not limited to) Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards Measure, cut, and portion ingredients accurately Maintain proper food storage and prevent spoilage Monitor food and storage temperatures for safety compliance Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines Assist with dishwashing and proper storage of kitchen items Work collaboratively to support a smooth kitchen operation What We're Looking For Ability to listen and follow directions Ability to work both independently, as well as part of a team, while maintaining a high level of accountability Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment Ability to lead and direct while cultivating a healthy and collaborative team environment Stand for prolonged periods of time and handle products, tools, paperwork, and equipment. May be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment and requested to work with cleaning chemicals. May inhale smoke from a wood burning cooker Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with a team.
