Experienced Hard-Surface Employee Installer-Flooring Lead (RICHMOND, VA)

Job Summary This is a W-2 Hard Surface Flooring Installer Lead position requiring hands‑on experience with hard surface flooring installations, including tile work. The Flooring Installer Lead is responsible for installing floor covering including carpet, vinyl, tile, laminate, LVP, and hardwood flooring per industry and Romanoff standards. Essential Functions Review purchase orders to understand scope of work. Review measure diagrams to ensure understanding of layout of installation; making sure that material supplied is adequate. Walk job with customer prior to installation; confirming material selection, items to be moved, placement of seams (when applicable), and answering any additional customer questions. Install floor covering per industry and Romanoff standards. Vacuum (when applicable) and clean job site upon completion of installation; removing all old and leftover material/scraps. Drop off all old material and scraps at local warehouse; sorting recyclable materials as required. Walk completed installation with customer to ensure full satisfaction; addressing any issues before leaving job site. Upload completed paperwork pertaining to the project. Pick up any required materials from local warehouse or Home Depot store. Attend monthly installer meetings. Attend training as directed by local manager and support teams. Job Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be willing to submit to a background check. Must be able to submit proof of employment eligibility. Must have a valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and possess vehicle insurance. Previous flooring installation experience is required. This position is not intended for candidates without prior installer experience in the flooring industry. Preferred Qualifications Ability to work flexible schedule. Outgoing personality with a proactive attitude; self‑motivated. History of punctuality and good attendance. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle difficult customer & installation situations that may arise. Ability and willingness to use mobile devices/computers. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies Comfortable with using technology and mobile devices. Ability to work independently. Self‑starter and team player. Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate across company levels. Results‑driven and goal‑oriented attitude. Conscientious about producing the highest quality of work. Ability to work and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Physical Activity Constant body movement up to 8 hours. Lifting of rolls of carpet, pad, or other flooring material (up to 100lbs). Constant use of hands. Stand, sit, kneel, bend up to 8 hours. Moving furniture (when applicable). Tear out of existing material. Standing/driving. Benefits 401k with Company Match.
